Summary
Under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota, 15 thousand seats will be increased in AKTU and its affiliated colleges. Decisions on new colleges of pharmacy and engineering will also be taken soon.

Expansion
About 15 thousand seats will increase under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota in the new session in more than 750 institutions affiliated to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). The university administration will take admission on these increased seats in the admission process starting from September 15. This decision was taken by Vice Chancellor Prof. Took in the Executive Council meeting chaired by JP Pandey.




In the meeting, after getting relief from the Supreme Court, permission was given to the colleges for extension of affiliation. At the same time, as per the provisions of AICTE and the instructions of the government, the proposal to increase 25 percent seats under EWS was agreed. Besides, after the recommendation of the inspection committee, the proposal to increase seats in 85 institutions was also approved. Studies on courses like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science etc. will start there.

The Vice Chancellor said that information related to new colleges of engineering and pharmacy has been sent to the government. Further decision will be taken after receiving instructions from there. Registrar Reena Singh presented the proposals in the meeting. During this, Finance Officer Sushil Kumar Gupta, IET Director Prof. Vineet Kansal, Vice Chancellor of Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj University, Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak, Special Secretary Technical Education Annavi Dinesh Kumar, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Manish Gaur, AICTE representative Ravindra Kumar Soni etc. were present.
